Description:

The Marketing Design and Communications Specialist will work with management, administrative staff, and sales teams to support the marketing efforts of the company, produce advertising, marketing, and sales materials consistent with the company brand, and effectively represent the company's products and services to customers and prospects. This individual must be a creative, energetic team player with strong organizational skills and focus on detail.  The Marketing Design and Communications Specialist must work effectively within tight time constraints and be able to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects.  We are looking for someone to be responsible for the visual style and overall layout of marketing and sales collateral AND handle written content to ensure the company's vision and message are clearly and professionally presented in all materials. An ideal candidate would have advanced communication and writing skills, possess problem-solving skills, be proficient in a number of computer programs and have an understanding of what information will appeal to various groups of people.

The Marketing Design and Communications Specialist secondary function will play a role in Project Coordination.   In this role this person will work with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude major projects, sometimes unrelated to marketing design and communications. This team member plays a key role in supporting the staff and tracking the details of projects from inception through full completion.

Duties: 
  • Plan, interpret, and develop the visual style and overall layout as well as the written content for all external client communications such as newsletters, announcements, mailings, surveys, sales materials, brochures, presentations, advertisements, company reports, proposals, presentations, and pamphlets etc.
  • Handle the logistics of distribution for all external client communications via mail, email, social media, or the company website; monitor roll-out of communications and campaigns and report on success level at conclusion.
  • Review proofs and check for errors before any project is finalized.
  • Develop and distribute internal communications.
  • Communicate and handle relationships with third party printing, marketing, web design, or other as needed vendors. Oversee marketing, communication and advertising related projects when working with third parties. 
  • Meet with appropriate sales or management representatives to discuss communication, marketing and advertising needs; research and present solution options; and execute projects as decided upon and assigned by teams.
  • Review literature pertaining to industry news and trends; understand how it relates to our business and clients; and prepare announcements and alerts for clients and prospects pertaining to industry news and trends with the assistance of management.
  • Manage the Unison brand displayed on the company website, on social media sites, within sales collateral, as a part of marketing campaigns and within all internal and external communications.
  • Manage website content; make updates and changes as needed.  
  • Assist others in the office with questions pertaining to marketing, sales materials, and communications as well as Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
  • Regular attendance at the office required.
Qualifications:
  • A four year degree, preferably in marketing, communications, advertising, graphic design, public relations, journalism or other closely related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in writing, editing, and designing marketing and/or sales materials preferred.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Access, Excel, Outlook, Office, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word 2007) and Adobe Design Suite (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop CS5) required. 
  • Knowledge of the employee benefits, health insurance, and/or financial industry is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to take direction, handle a variety of assignments simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Superior writing skills, strong organization and analytical skills, and an impeccable eye for detail.
  • Ability to volunteer new, creative and artistic ideas and solutions, while maintaining a feel for a professional aesthetic and understanding the needs of the company, our clients and potential prospects. 
  • Must be a team player, be willing to help out in other areas of the business if needed, and be ready to take on new challenges as they arise.
